Me, me, aaaaaand me

Something I’m learning about myself while I purge all the social media crap outta my mind and heart…

FACT : I do not need to tell everyone what I know or what I’m learning.

THOUGHTS : Not sure why I feel this compulsive need to post everything. I didn’t grow up needing to share my entire life in pictures. I’m blaming the social media lifestyle. Well, that and a compulsive need to share with everyone stuff I learn, especially what God shows me in scripture! It’s so frustrating that I feel this crazy need to share. It’s like my brain has been rewired and detoxing from that compulsion is hard. I can’t wait for the need to show “everyone” a picture I took or post something I’ve learned, to pass. Seriously. It sits in my mind. For example : “Oh man! I should post this picture [so people can see what I’m experiencing]!” I went to the Dare to Be concert this past weekend and ya know, for the first time I didn’t take a single picture. And I loved just worshipping with a ton of sisters in Christ. It felt good to not have this feeling of having to post a hundred pictures of a concert. If you had wanted to see the concert, you would have gone. Am I right? Of course I am! But let me tell you, Natalie Grant and Charlotte Gambill our on quite a concert!

So now I’m trying to take the Mary, mother of Jesus, mentality. She treasured all things in her heart as Jesus grew. She didn’t blab it all over Nazareth or even Bethlehem. She simply watched, marveled and remembered! I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile so now is the time. I will journal in my Notes app and blog here for no other reason than to remind me of my journey.

So the question I pose to you is this…what types of things are you just treasuring in your heart or in my case, your journal😉?
