We went out last night with some good friends for dinner and then on to Longwood Gardens for their annual Fourth of July Fountains and Fireworks show.
There was so much patriotism!
I saw a lot of flags being worn on shirts.
And so many people sporting their red, white and blue.
Me included. 🇺🇸
But then I started to wonder…
Why do we only wear red white and blue for 2 or 3 days? We show our patriotism and then after fireworks, it all goes away.
Now I’m not saying we should make our country or patriotism a god. Nor we should be obnoxious about it, but I am saying that being proud of your country is something we uniquely get to do here in the States.
And no matter your opinion of how good or bad you think we’re doing in our current situation, we still live in the most free country on the planet. And there is still time for God to bless us as a nation!
Have you recently thanked Him for your freedoms?
Do you pray for our leaders?
Or do you take for granted what we have? Rolling around day to day “fat, dumb and happy”?
We should all be proud to be Americans! And we should all be praying for our leaders and asking God to be a part of our lives.
Take a few moments today, on America’s 248th birthday, and thank God for His freedoms and for the freedoms in our country.
And while you’re at it, go ahead and pray for our leaders. They desperately need our prayers!
Happy Forth of July, friends! Enjoy the day!
