Beachy Forgiveness

Have you ever been to the beach and watched the waves wash away your footprints? It’s like they never existed as the waves gently wash ashore and move the sand. Tiny little grains of sand, hundred of thousands of billions of them, are pushed around each day by the waves, filling in cracks and footprints and creating dunes.

I was watching this the other day when it struck me – that’s kind of like God washing away our sins.

The footprint mark is there.

And if the waves don’t come, that footprint stays there. The sand is marked with my steps for everyone to see. But soon the waves move in and wash away the footprints.

They’re gone.

Like I never even walked the beach.

That’s how God is with our sins. When we confess them to Him, His forgiveness washes over them like waves and they automatically disappear.

Gone forever.

Never to be seen again.

Isn’t that just the most amazing thing?

It’s just another reason I love the ocean.

That and saltwater just runs through my veins.

Hey…you can take the girl outta Florida, but you can’t take Florida outta the girl!!

So remember, the next time the enemy reminds you of past mistakes – God’s waves of forgiveness have already washed them away. And removed them – as far as the east is from the west. (see below)

They are no more.

Just like my footprints in the sand.
