Story time!

Part One :

Yesterday we went to get bagels at our favorite little bagel place called Chelsea Bagels in Midtown Manhattan. If you’re ever near Grand Central Station, you should go. We got there a bit before they opened at 7 AM and an older gentleman with a rolling walker came up to us and started talking to us.

Now, in all honesty, I tend to shy away from these types of people because, well, it is New York City and I don’t wanna get involved in a conversation that I don’t wanna get involved in. (You know, because I’m learning how to love people… 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️😂)

Anyway, he asked us if we knew that he was an author. Both my husband and I were like no… And he said “Yes! I am! I wrote a book! It’s poetry that I wrote paired with photography by a friend of mine” so he continue to tell us about this book and that’s when I noticed the back of the book – typed out was the entire verse of John 3:16!

So that’s when I got really interested. (Yep, I’m shallow…Lord, forgive me)

Come to find out, he’s a Jewish Christian who loves Jesus and writes from his heart.

I was almost in tears listening to him talk about how much he loved Jesus. And maybe a smidge convicted, too!

He was stooped over and shuffled when he walked, but when he looked at you, you could see how much love was in his eyes!

He was so excited to have met us and be able to tell us about his book and talk about Jesus for a minute. He said… “I’m so glad that you got here before the store opened so that I could get a chance to meet you and talk to you!” Seriously, no…I’m glad we got there early and had the chance to meet you, Richard. What a gift you are!

Now, don’t you know that I went home and I ordered that book! I cannot wait to get it and read it!

Stay tuned for part two
